Minnesota State Laws Governing Irrigation Contractors
 Make sure your irrigation contractor is abiding by all the Laws of

Technology Systems Contractor License:
What is a Technology Systems Contractor and why is this important to me?
- Any low voltage electrical work must be performed by a "Technology
Systems Contractor". This includes all irrigation work - wiring the valves, wiring the controller, wiring the rain sensor,
and installing direct burial 24 volt wire that controls the entire irrigation system.
- A "Technology Service Contractor" must be registered with the State, post a Bond and provide proof of insurance
that meets State standards.

visit their website at www.electricity.state.mn.us
- It is the Law. Don't let your contractor say differently. Every irrigation contractor must have a current license
issued by the State. Ask to see it before any work is performed. Our Technology Systems Contractor license number is TS01645
 Install Back-Flow Preventer by Licensed Plumber:
What is a Back Flow Preventer and why is it important to me?
- All plumbing work associated with the installation of a back-flow preventer must
be performed by a licensed plumber.
- The back flow preventer is installed to protect your drinking water supply and must
be installed to meet all local codes.
- A permit must be on file with the city and the back flow preventer must be inspected
by the city after installation. To pull a permit, a Master Plumber must make that request and perform all the work associated with the installation.
